Booking your Wedding Band!
Your Wedding Band is the most important vendor you will pick for your Event. Think about all the Affairs you have been to. What stands out the most? Food, Hall, Entertainment? Sure your guests love Fine Decor and Great Munchies! However, the band is what really makes the party Rock! Everyone enjoys great tunes to listen and dance.
Think about the guests you will be having. What is the age group and what music would they prefer? You shoud start the process of picking a band/DJ 12 - 18 months before your big event. The best way to pick a band is to get out there and listen (live) to the different groups.
One way of doing this is to take note of the different musical ensembles at friends or families parties. Also when meeting with a party planner/band insist that you be able to see them perform live. They will arrange for you to see a particular group while they are performing.
Once you and your bride decide on a band, sign a contract which outlines playing time, breaks, and make sure you include the number of pieces and band leader for a particular group. Sometimes large bands will substitute a lead singer at the last minute. You do not want this to happen if you chose a particular band leader 12 months prior to your affair.
